Our client is a global education company, they promote cultural diversity, educational partnerships and research opportunities through universities globally. They are seeking a Human Resources Manager to join their team.

Responsibility

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Executive Management team and Line Managers, providing counsel in relation to HR best practice.
  • Manage all core HR departmental areas, including payroll, employee relations, HR admin, learning and development, internal recruitment, employee engagement, and maintaining and improving HR systems.
  • Provide advice and direction where needed to the HR team on work priorities, budget and staff resources, strategic, policy, organisation, and staff management issues.
  • Contribute to the achievement of their objectives by developing and assisting in strategic people initiatives and plans, inclusive of budgets and forecasting, making recommendations as and when needed.
  • Manage complex employee relations casework including dispute resolutions, disciplinaries, grievances, absence, retirement, and redundancy.
  • Ensure current employment law and compliance, including accepted professional standards, best practices, policies and procedures, and legislation (including legislation on workplace health and safety).
  • Develop and manage the implementation and updates of HR policy and procedures to drive performance and mitigate disputes.
  • Continuously improve engagement and welfare activities, maximising productivity, and
    supporting Line Managers to manage people-related issues to build leadership capability.
  • Develop, implement, and measure employee development strategies, opportunities, and programs allowing employees to enhance their skills to ensure employees maximise their potential and contribution to their teams and business.
  • Oversee management of the Employee Performance Review and Development system and ensure this is linked to individual and organisational development activities.
  • Develop and implement workforce and succession planning frameworks.
  • Identify staffing needs and manage the creation of job descriptions and KPIs with management.
  • Develop and implement talent management and learning and development initiatives.
  • Oversee the administration of payroll and payroll records and keep accounts appraised of any changes.
  • Work with appropriate parties on reward and recognition strategies.
  • Provide advice on recruitment and selection strategies to ensure the attraction of quality talent.
  • Support the recruitment process – this may include writing job descriptions and preparing / training on competency-based interview techniques.
  • Participate in the implementation of specific projects, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the organisation.
  • Support change management processes.
  • Develop and oversee reward and recognition systems.
  • Ensure appropriate systems of equality, selection, and appointment are effectively managed resulting in the best candidate in all internal and external recruitment procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a senior HR practitioner at a management level.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management, Organisational Development, and /or an appropriate business-related discipline are required.
  • Fundamental knowledge of the Work, Health, and Safety Legislative Framework and demonstrated application in other organisations.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to manage, coach, and lead.
  • High-level interpersonal, influencing, and relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrated a high level of time management to balance operational and strategic objectives.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to work across a variety of disciplines.

Salary: $150k - $160k plus super
