Mandarin Speaking Estimator

Are you an experienced Estimator with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering cost-effective solutions in construction? We are seeking a motivated professional to join our client’s growing team in Melbourne.

About the Role

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions for structural steel and metal works projects. You will work closely with suppliers, project managers, and builders to ensure cost alignment and successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and addendums to determine material, labor, and equipment costs.
• Source and negotiate with suppliers for cost-effective solutions.
• Order materials and coordinate crane trucks, concrete trucks, and other logistics.
• Collaborate with project managers and builders to align estimates with project execution.
• Assist in contract negotiations and risk assessments.
• Prepare and submit progress claims and variations throughout the project lifecycle.

About You

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• 1+ years of experience in construction estimating (industrial or commercial projects preferred).
• A relevant qualification in Construction Management, Estimation, or Contract Administration (preferred).
• Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, Buildsoft, CostX, or similar.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and cost structures.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams.
• Ability to identify project risks and propose cost-effective solutions.
• Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Fluent English and Mandarin skills is a must
